Welcome to Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). CAPS is proud to be a site within the APA-Accredited Nebraska Internship Consortium in Professional Psychology (NICPP).

Our staff is committed to the comprehensive training experience we offer our interns. We invest a great deal of time and energy in training to provide the highest quality internship experience we possibly can.

For details on the steps for completing the NICPP application, please go to the NICPP website (https://nicpp.unl.edu/). Please note that CAPS program code number is 141611. A completed application must be received by November 1 at 11:59pm CST.

 

The NICPP requires the following for your application to be completed:

I. ONE cover letter addressed to Dr. Matthew Gormley.

     Please make sure you: 

  1. Specify that you are applying to CAPS in the first paragraph.
  2. Review our detailed information on this website. You will learn more about our program which will help you tailor your cover letter.
  3. Explain the following in detail:
    • Why you are applying to CAPS UNL and what interests you specifically in our program?
    • Your commitment to CAPS’ mission. https://caps.unl.edu/mission-vision/
    • Highlight your commitment to support of advocacy that is welcoming for all students during the internship year.

II. Include three letters of recommendation and your CV.

III. Send official copies of all graduate transcripts.

 

NICPP uses the APPIC Application for Psychology Internships (AAPI). Mailed applications or e-mailed applications are not accepted.
