Couple/partner counseling provides a private and non-judgmental setting to explore both healthy and challenging patterns of connecting. Both partners are required to be currently registered students at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Consider this service if your goals are to:

  • Improve communication
  • Explore collaborative problem-solving and decision-making
  • Acknowledge and respect lifestyle and intimacy preferences
  • Navigate relationship changes such as parenting, long-distance, breach of trust, etc.

This service is available to all students regardless of marital status or sexual orientation. It is also available to any two students who wish to improve their relationship or to work out communication concerns.

Any student participating in a couple/partner counseling session must have completed an Initial Evaluation with CAPS.

If you or your partner(s) need longer-term counseling or evening hours, Counseling and Psychological Services can provide community referrals. In some cases, individual counseling may be recommended before beginning couple/partner counseling.
