Help Maintain a Healthy Environment

Free teletherapy is now available for students.

University of Nebraska–Lincoln has partnered with BetterMynd. To learn more and receive a referral to BetterMynd, please call CAPS at (402) 472-7450 and Press 2.

Dear Students:

As counseling professionals, we work closely with our students. In an effort to maintain a healthy environment for all UNL students, faculty and staff, we ask that you reschedule your appointment with your counselor if:

  • You are sick (which includes a cold, fever, strep throat, the flu, coughing, sneezing)
  • You have sick children
  • You have the symptoms of an illness

If you are ill and do not feel it is in your best interest to cancel your appointment, your counselor can call you during your scheduled appointment time for a consultation appointment over the phone. If you prefer this option, please call CAPS at 402-472-7450 and let the front desk know you prefer a “telephone consultation” and the phone number you can be reached at during the time of your appointment.

If you arrive at CAPS with symptoms of an illness, you may be asked to reschedule your appointment. This is for your well-being as well as health and well-being of our clients and staff.

As always, if you have an urgent need after hours, call 402-472-7450 and press 4 to speak with our on-call crisis counselor.

Thank you for your understanding.
